Flying high
September 4, 2009
I got a chance to go flying this week in John Coppinger’s microlight. As always it was a wonderful experience – here are a couple images from the flight.

We were very fortunate to find this small herd of elephants wading across the Luangwa river. The second image is of a warthog sow lying next to her burrow. If you look closely you can see a little piglet looking up at us from behind her right shoulder!

Ele in the middle
July 24, 2009
Baby elephants can be difficult to photograph as they often stay hidden away in the centre of the herd where they are safe from predators. I like this image as it shows this behaviour very graphically with the baby elephant surrounded by the larger members of his family.

A morning game drive
June 30, 2009
We have been having some very good game viewing recently with the number of general wildlife like impala and puku increasing steadily along the river as it gets drier and drier inland – which also means the whole area is now crawling with lions. Here are a few images from this mornings drive.
